Ford has decided to go all out by bringing in a slew of new
cars in 2017. It has already launched the new Figo twins, the new Endeavour and
the Mustang in recent past. Products like the EcoSport, along with earlier
versions of the Figo and Fiesta, have also received an almost overwhelming
response from Indian car buyers.
Here’s a look at the upcoming Ford Cars in India 2017 –
Ford EcoSport facelift
November, 2017
Easily among the most awaited upcoming Ford cars in India,
the EcoSport facelift is just months away from us! With a new front fascia and
an updated features list, the EcoSport will try to re-claim the top spot in its
segment. The EcoSport facelift should be here by the advent of this year’s
festive season. Prices could see a slight increase owing to introduction of new
features. The facelift is sure to infuse some freshness with this very likable
compact SUV.
Ford Figo facelift
May, 2018
Ford India plans to launch an updated version of the Figo?.
The new 2018 Ford Figo facelift will debut at the Auto Expo 2018. It will have
a new 1.2-litre petrol engine that will offer better performance and higher
mileage. The car will also have a fresher exterior and more features for the
interior. Prices of the car could start at Rs 5.2 lakh and go all the way to Rs
7.6 lakh. The 1.5-litre Petrol and 1.5-litre Diesel engines will be carried
forward unchanged. The Figo facelift will probably be successful in helping
Ford India establish a stronger foothold in the very competitive lower
B-segment of Indian car market.
Ford Aspire facelift
May, 2018
Ford India is also likely to launch the new Aspire facelift
in India. It will also have an updated exterior, better-equipped interior and
the new 1.2-litre Petrol engine. Thanks to these updates, the car might get a
slight price rise but we feel that the increase in the price will be justified.
The Aspire sedan hasn’t exactly set sales charts on fire and now, the updated
car might become a worthier rival to the likes of Maruti Dzire and Hyundai
Xcent.
Ford Figo Cross
Known as the Ford Ka Trail in Brazil, the Ford Figo Cross is
nothing but a slightly more rugged version of the Figo hatchback. It gets some
body cladding, bigger wheels and a higher ground clearance to come across as a
more rugged option. For India, the Figo Cross will come with a new 1.2-litre,
three-cylinder, Dragon-series Petrol engine. This engine will even go on to
replace the current 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine on the regular Figo and
the Aspire. It will also come with a touchscreen infotainment unit. Safely
expect this car to make its public debut at the Auto Expo 2018.
Ford Kuga
Early 2018
Ford India already sells internationally-acclaimed models
like Ecosport, the new generation Figo (internationally known as the Ka) and
the Enveavour (aka Everest) in India. Now, it plans to bring more globally
successful models to our car market. One of these upcoming Ford cars in India
is the Kuga small crossover. The Kuga will be slotted between the EcoSport and
the Endeavour in Ford India’s line-up of cars. It will rival high-end models of
the Hyundai Creta at one end, and the Tucson at the other. Expect a mileage of
up to 17 KMPL from the Diesel engine!
Ford Mondeo
Early 2018
Yes, the Mondeo is coming back! First launched over a decade
ago, the Mondeo failed to find many takers. However, several years later, Ford
India is readying itself to once again launch the Mondeo. In its latest
generation, the Mondeo looks really handsome and will share its engines with
the Kuga. Expect a late-2017 or an early-2018 launch. The Mondeo will rival
cars like the Toyota Camry and Skoda Superb.
Ford Mustang Convertible
Early 2018
The legendary Ford Mustang was launched here earlier this
year. Now, the manufacturer is rumoured to be working on to bring the
Convertible version to India. Akin to the Coupe, the Convertible will be
available in only the top-of-the-line GT 5.0 V8 trim. Expect a price of roughly
Rs 70 Lakh.
