Aston Martin finally pulled the wraps off the new
Vantage sports coupe. The new sports car from the British automaker comes with
an imposing stance, sharp design and styling and exhilarating V8 engine under
the hood. As of now, the new Aston Martin Vantage has officially gone on sale
in the UK (120,900 Pounds), and the US ($149,995). The carmaker has announced
that it will start the deliveries of the car from the second quarter of the
2018 calendar year.
Visually, the new Aston Martin Vantage takes some
inspiration from the carmaker's DB10 concept. The car gets a distinctive design
language that flaunts its bold sculpted profile and the subtle character lines
that enhance the overall look of the car. The most prominent design element is
the new grille which comes with a distinctive glossy black surround that
protruded out of the grille and is attached to the bumper lip. Furthermore, the
minimal front design and rear overhangs muscular flanks and broad haunches add
to the sporty character of the car. While up front, the car comes with a sleek
pair of LED headlamps, it's the rear portion of the car that truly stands out
with the stylish full width LED tail lamp with stop tail and dynamic indicator
functions. The sculpted rear bumper comes with a similar glossy black design
element as the front, which along with the grille of the two exhaust pipes.
Aston Martin says that aerodynamic performance was central
to the design of the Vantage. The front splitter upfront directs airflow
underneath the car, where a system of fences channels cooling air where it is
needed, and also ensures the rear diffuser is fed with clean airflow.
Furthermore, the new side gills, which have been integrated into the body
surface and bleed air pressure out from the front wheel arches. The car also
comes with a pronounced upswept rear deck lid, which along with the
aforementioned elements generates a significant level of downforce.
As for the cabin, the Vantage gets a dynamic and focused
sports car cockpit that comes with sharp lines denoting the more aggressive
nature of the car. You get sporty seats with premium leather upholstery in dual
tone pattern. A high waist interior theme and lower driving position creates a
more immersive driving experience and contributes to significant gains in
occupant space and significant improvement in headroom compared with the
outgoing Vantage. Additionally, there is a bunch of rotary and toggle style
tactile controls that make driving the car all the more intuitive. Other
features include a keyless start/stop, tyre pressure monitoring system, parking
distance display, park assist and front and rear parking sensors. The car gets
an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
As mentioned before the new Aston Martin Vantage is powered
by 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that makes develops 503 bhp at 6000 rpm and 685
Nm from 2000-5000 rpm. The impressive power and The Aston Martin Vantage can go
from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 314 kmph. The new
Vantage is also the first Aston Martin to get an electronic rear differential
(E-Diff). It is linked to the car's electronic stability control system and can
understand the car's behaviour, and react accordingly to direct the engine's
power to the relevant wheel. The car also gets Adaptive Damping System which
incorporates Skyhook technology and offers the choice of Sport, Sport Plus and
Track modes.
