After much wait, Renault has finally launched the Captur in
India at an introductory starting price of Rs 9.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, all
India). The Captur crossover shares its underpinnings with the Duster. The
five-seat vehicle is based on Renault’s new design language and offers
additional set of features over the Duster in India.
The Renault Captur is available in petrol and diesel engine
options. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.5-litre engine mated to a
five-speed manual transmission that generates 104bhp of power and 142Nm of
torque. The diesel version on the other hand is powered by a 1.5-litre engine
mated to a six-speed manual transmission which generates 108bhp of power and
240Nm of torque. Currently, both the engine options are limited to manual
transmission and does not offer AWD option for now.
Based on Renault’s new design language, the Captur features
curvy-body lines and flared wheel arches. The front gets a horizontally slotted
smiley grille with Renault’s diamond logo at the centre. The top of the line
variant features full LED headlamps, C-shaped DRLs and LED tail lamps along
with 17-inch diamond cut alloys. As for safety it gets al front airbags as
standard along with ABS and EBD, brake assist, hill-start assist and electronic
stability control. The vehicle also gets ISOFIX standard fitments for child
seats along with rear parking sensors.
As for the interior, the Captur gets leather upholstery,
electrically adjustable driver seat and a 7-inch touchscreen display in the
centre-console with smartphone integration via Bluetooth, voice command and GPS
navigation. Automatic climate control is standard along with electrically
operated wing mirrors, cruise control and steering mounted audio controls.

RXE - Rs 9.99 lakhs
RXL – Rs 11.07 lakhs
RXT – Rs 11.69 lakhs
Diesel
RXE - Rs 11.39 lakhs
RXL – Rs 12.47 lakhs
RXT – Rs 13.09 lakhs
Platine – Rs 13.88 lakhs
The dual tone colour option is available in RXT and Platine
variants at an additional price of Rs 17,000.
