markets, and distributes vehicles and vehicle parts, and sells financial
services. With global headquarters at the Renaissance Center in Detroit,
Michigan, United States, GM manufactures cars and trucks in 35 countries. Current
auto brands are Buick, Cadillac,
Chevrolet, GMC, Holden, and Wuling.
Former GM automotive brands include McLaughlin, Oakland, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Hummer, Saab, Saturn,
Vauxhall, and Opel.
The company was founded by William C. Durant on September 16, 1908 as a holding company. The
company was the largest automobile manufacturer from 1931 through 2007.
Daimler AG
(German pronunciation: [ˈdaɪmlɐ aːˈɡeː]) is a German multinational automotive
corporation. Daimler AG is headquartered in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg,
Germany. Daimler owns Mercedes-Benz,
Mercedes-AMG, Smart Automobile, Detroit Diesel, Freightliner, Western Star,
Thomas Built Buses, Setra, Bharat Benz, Mitsubishi Fuso, MV Agusta. The
luxury Maybach brand was terminated
at the end of 2012, but revived in April 2015 as "Mercedes-Maybach".
The Ford Motor
Company (commonly referred to simply as "Ford") is an American multinational
automaker headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. It was
founded by Henry Ford and
incorporated on June 16, 1903. The company sells automobiles and commercial
vehicles under the Ford brand and
most luxury cars under the Lincoln
brand. Ford also owns Brazilian SUV manufacturer, Troller, and Australian performance car manufacturer FPV.
